Textile artist

Bio

Bust shot photo of Catherine Parkinson artist outside.

Catherine is an award-winning textile artist from Waikato, New Zealand.  She paints and prints on recycled white fabrics with textile inks and paints and other drawing mediums.  Then she machine quilts further texture using fine threads.  Her work is very detailed and draws the viewer to take a closer look. She is inspired by the details in nature and life that often are overlooked, invisible or missed. She expresses these ideas though deep and rich paintings of women and beautiful details in nature  Her quilted art is bright, rich and dynamic and exudes her soul and spirit.
